            One of the important place in Kashmir is dal lake. The lake is popular as a visitor attraction and a summer resort. Fisheries and the harvesting of food and fodder plants are also important on Dal. Swimming, boating, snow skiing (particularly when the lake is frozen during the severe winter), and canoeing are amongst some of the water sports activities practiced on the lake. The lake has numerous sites and places of interest, many of which are important to the cultural heritage of Srinagar

            The most important one in dal lake is houseboats. Houseboat and the dal are widely associated with Sree Nagar and are nick named as floating places. Houseboats looks like a luxurious hotel. Many of them have lavishly furnished rooms, with verandas and a terrace to serve as a sun-deck or to serve evening cocktails. the houseboats are of different sizes, some having upto three bedrooms apart from a living room and a kitchen. Unlike their counterparts in Kerala, the houseboats in Sree Nagar, Jammu and kashmir are usually stationary. They are usually moored at the edge of the Dal Lake and Nigeen Lake.

Sonamarg is very beautiful place having full of snowfalls. Sonamarg experiences th eregionally-rare humid continental climate with significant rainfall. Sonamarg has no permanent settlement and is inaccessible during winter due to heavy snowfall and avalanches. Sonamarg provides trekking routes leading to Vishansar Lake, Krishansar Lake, Gangabal Lake and Gadsar Lake in the Himalayas, which are stocked with snowtrout and brown trout
